Strategy for 41 Campaign in PC

All,

I just finished the 39 campaign following the path of Herr Pferdmann.

Now I'd like to try another campaign to play the scenarios I did not play in the first campaign. I'd like to begin with Barbarossa obviously, then rush to Moscow, then Sealion 42. Starting with Barbarossa, I'm struggling with the starting units nowhere as buff as when I played starting with the 39 campaign game.

Starting with Barbarossa, what starting strategy and units should I go with? As for units I think 2 BF109E's make most sense. But I am still struggling with making progress while protecting units from destruction at the start. Is it feasible to achieve a DV in Barbarossa while preserving units?

Don't forget you can upgrade your units in a friendly city ! Make sure you upgrade some of your panzers early on.
It's been a while but I think I bought AA 88 up north and self-propelled artillery and not BF109E. Move your infantry (make sure is covered by arty!) but don't attack let the AI come to you and crush against defensive arty fire. Move slowly at first then rush north and swing down.
South will be bogged down for the whole scenario (Baranovichi is as far as it will go).
Don't fight the Brest fortress use the Karl to slowly sap and then destroy it.
DV yes but you need a bit of luck up north.
I think Minsk was the last to be taken by mix of northern and southern troops.

Just 2 Bf-109s will really never be enough air power. You are going to need more.

brettz123,

Thanks for the reply. What I really meant was to purchase 2 more BF109's at the start of the scenario

Ahhh that makes more sense. I was thinking with only 2 bf-109s you would really have trouble with this scenario!
