The same is happening to me, I'm new to Panzer Corps. started with AK standalone but I cannot finish one game. Tried two times, had two crashes. It feels like playing a demo.

Could you please rename the "audio" and "video" subfolder to "_audio" and "_video" and check if the crashes persist.

Is this happening with a specific scenario, or happens with any scenario? Are you playing the campaign?
From what you said you're playing Panzer Corps for the first time. Do you have any mods installed?
Also could you please post your DxDiag.

Yep, first time with Panzer Corps: Afrka Korps standalone, no mods whatsoever, Afrika Korps main campaign. Got 3 crashes on 3 tries, all of them before arriving to Tobruk.
Third crash was with "_Audio" and "_Video".
Maybe the Desert Rats are sabotaging my software?

When your crashes happen, is it after playing more than one scenario without exiting to Windows?

No, run program, select main campaign, play a few turns and crash. There's the typical Windows XP popup to send Microsoft a message.
I've tried scenario mode and in "Reconnaissance..." (the same scenario as the first in main campaign) the game also crashed, but finally I could play the game at El Alamein without problems.

So the game is only crashing with the first scenario "Reconnaissance in Force"?
Is the crash when moving units or attacking? Any pattern? Any unit?
Sorry for all these questions but as you may guess, I'm not able to replicate your issue.

Played one scenario more: "Dashed to the wire" til the end, without problems.
Tried again Campaign and crashed in turn 11, in the middle of a combat in my turn.
Will try again tomorrow

Please, try to find a pattern. If it's a specific unit or a specific action, for example.

Ok, it's not scenario related.
It happens at combat, just after the "fighting" animation, and only if my unit got ambushed.
Besides "don't get ambushed!", any idea?
My Afrika Korps standalone is patched and computer (Windows XP) has min. requirements.

Nobody reported such an issue, so I would say it's something local in your system.
You could try to play it in Windows safe mode and force the ambush and see if it's happening again. This way we could see if there's any third party program which might be interfering. As you might know, when Windows is running in safe mode some services and programs are disabled. To run Windows in safe mode you've to press F8 key awhen Windows is starting to boot and select the option safe mode.

Have you got the main game? If so does this work? If not could you grab the demo version and see if this runs for you.

VP It was just a mad idea that he could be running out of RAM and he might need to add the "NOCACHE" in the Compatibility mode of the game. As you mentioned in an artcle in forum by you. I can't find it now (darn it !). You said go to shortcut for game, select right click, properties, add (space) \nocache after Target.......sri if its no help.

Hi, Mr. McNeil.
No, I don't have the main game (tempted to do so), only Afrika Korps.
I've tried with safe mode (F8) and the game still crashed, but that was using a saved game.
I say this because on 3rd scenario in AK campaign I got ambushed once without problems so I need to test more.
If problem persists I'll check the demo, or that NOCACHE thingy (thanks, chief!) and post results here.
Thank you for support
