Players switched sides (Axis, Allied) in middle of MP game

Hello!
I played Axis for about 8 turns in PBEM, River Line, then this morning when I pushed play to look at what move the opponent had made, I did not see any of them. Instead
1) I was made Allied.
2) The game was reversed 1 turn or possibly a half turn.
Now I have nothing against playing as Allied, but I rather play the same side until the match is over! Does the phenomena I described happen often? Is there a way to fix the issue so we can continue the game as it were?
Thanks for any help!

Info:
* I have version 2.05

It sounds like you might have been watching your turn being played out. Did your opponent surrender,...or abandon the game.
I remember that happening to me,..but it was me watching a surrendered game.

I did not watch my turn being played out. The match is not booked as a surrender. The opponent did not know what was wrong. I could see all his units when it was my turn and I could not see any of mine except those that was in line of sight of the opponents units. One of the opponents units was choosen for receiving orders but I did not attempt to move it. I don't know what the opponent was seeing.
We pushed "end turn" to see what would happen and the situation continued to be as I described.
Thanks for your help though!

It may have been a version of that after all. I recently learned that the opponent did surrender, but I don't know if that was before the issue started or as a way of ending it.
Perhaps it's worth mentioning that the opponent most probably were playing on Ipad, while I used a PC, i.e. two technological platforms were used.
