So with the runners and riders now in what are the tips for the top 3?

Can us Brits hold off the strong international challenge with the World No 1 and 2 visiting our shores?

Ian, Dave and Shaun. Ian or Shaun first, but I got Dave in the right place.

Where and how are you looking Dave?

ELO has Shaun as 1, Olivier 2, and Matt 4, with you behind me in 28th.

At the results of the last four World Individual Tournaments!

ELO is good for predicting results within countries, but I don't think there is enough cross-over for it to be reliable when predicting international tournaments.

Fair enough.

My tips for the top.

1 - Shaun as even though I struggle with the though of Swiss winning he is the top seed and he has won his last 3 competitions with this army.

2 - Ian again has he has tasted numerous successes with this army.

3 - I'm struggling with this one. Dave isn't using Bosporans, Olivier hasn't used Mamlukes much, my Ottomans have fared well in competitions but are struggling in friendlies at the moment. And of course there is Pete with his Moldavians which may be a surprise. How about a 4-way tie?

Rob, you are pathetic. Talk about sitting on the fence. There are another 20 or so people that you haven't mentioned yet?

And just remember, this is the British Open. So furriners are not to be encouraged. TEAM GB!!!

1. Dave Ruddock
2. Pete Dalby
3. Ian Stewart

I'm quite content to be one of the lowest ranked players, BHGS rankings or ELO (though 3rd at Britcon last year). No expectations from anyone, least of all me.

Love to play the Ottomans with the Irish,Dave can probably tell you all about them, they are what I scored 96/100 at Roll Call a couple of years ago with.Always feel comfortable with them
You'll have to time putting your name in the hat right,I probably will be just outside the seeds
