Intro does not work.
Tried loading intro separately. Window Media player popped up.
Said install WMB10 something so I did. It works.
Tried game and now that works.
Question.
When starting the game the first time, why didn't it prompt me for an installation of a file?

It's something related with your system, more precisely with your codecs, or in this case the lack of one.
The PzC intro video uses WMVA while this use WVC1. Because you've an older Windows Media player, and probably no extra video codec packs installed, the system is asking you to download the proper codec to play the video.

For solving this issue or you download a recent codec pack, or just rename the "video" subfolder to "-video" folder. If I were you, I would rename it.
However more people with older systems may have the same issue. Isn't it better to encode the video in WMVA? I don't think you'll end up loosing quality.

Had a similiar issue as well. I am using windows Xp and did not get the intro video also. I will update my codecs tomorrow and try again, but letting you know in case this is a common occurnce on older machines. In my case I could here the music but nothing was appearing on screen. Oncue I clicked my mouse though, I was then got the splash screen to load and so forth.

+1
since PzC is a title able to be played on older machines this seems the better option
its most annoying to start upgrading codes, treibers and stuff on installing a game and not be able to play it straight ahead
so either deliver the codes with the install package or considering changing format seems the most customer friendly solution

indeed, the missing codec was my issue. First, I uninstalled beta4 completly and then reinstalled it just to be sure it was somehow not a clean install. Still no video. Downloaded and installed Windows Media player 11 which includes the codec for WVC1 for XP - started up Afrika Corps and now see the video. Issue solved.
This is a 6 year old comp running windows XP - 4GB of memory. I also have automatic updates turned on and it has never prompted me to make this update.
