Gates of Troy Install Problem

Installed GoT but after the movie, I see @ symbols in all the game controls (also in the header lines for the first three scenarios, as well as several places within the control screens themselves). Am I missing a font?
Publisher name on the CD box is "scubb interactive (the fine print says Scubb.com B.V. 2007)." Upper left of start screen says "Text v 1.017 Code 2404 (3D) (Troy)." Running Windows XP w/Service Pack 3. Graphics card is an NVIDIA Ge Force 6200. Anti-virus is AVG Free 2011 (10.0.1144), but I turned the AV off prior to installing.
I have a dx dialog file but the "Upload attachment" option doesn't like extensions apparently ( at least not .txt or .atxt or .ext, the last two I tried to change to get the software to accept, but no such luck). Anyway, dialog file available if you'll tell me how to upload it or where to send it.
I also have Spartan installed and it works perfectly. Assuming you can tell me how to fix GoT, should I install GoT into the same folder where I have the Spartan files?
