Hi I'm new here and to the game which is superb by the way,the thing is can anyone tell me if the game uses these abstractly in Infantry units from 1942 - End of the war,or will they be made available as specialist Anti-Tank units,or should we just add them our selves via modding?

That's what pioneers and somewhat later GRENADIERS are for.

To be specific, if you have not played yet, this gets incorporated optionally at the appropriate time. What happens is at the start of '43, all units have the option of being upgraded to "43" infantry - e.g., 43 Pioniere, 43 Gebirgsjager, etc. The biggest difference is a big bump in the hard attack value. Even regular Wermacht infantry gets a decent hard attack value, not just the specialized units. It becomes very effective in particular in close combat conditions/terrain.

I'm not one of the designers or anything, but to my mind that reflected the addition of infantry anti-tank weapons like the Panzerfaust and others.

Thanks for enlightening me,you say they are upgraded 1943 I thought the Panzerfaust first came into use 1942,should the infantry units not have better anti-armour then, and not wait for 1943 upgrade?

I think Panzerfaust entered service very late in 42 and given Germany's extended position at that time I would think they would have been a pretty rare sight at the front. The upgrade at the start of 1943 seems fair to me.

Yes this is correct. It wasn't rolled out until December of 42 so wouldn't make sense to give the upgrade before then.

Seems there is some confusion around...

the "Panzerfaust" was developed on basis of the

"Faustpatrone" Produced by the HASAG Hugo Schneider AG, Werk Schlieben the first 500 "Faustpatrone 30" got delivered to the
eastern front in August 1943.

The first Model of the "Panzerfaust 30" got delivered in October 1943
Panzerfaust 60 , Panzerfaust 100 and Panzerfaust 150 followed

Additionally these are not to be confused with the "Panzerschreck" or "Raketenpanzerbüchse 54" which is an AT rocket launcher in either 88mm or 100mm and able to penetrate any tank fielded by allied armys, including IS2.
The Panzerschreck needed 2 men to handle and has only been given to trained soliders whereas the Panzerfaus was largely given to militias or even civilians due to its one-time usage design.

The Faustpatrone and hte panzerfaust kleine are the same thing and my research shows they were initially deployed in December of 42 not August of 43.

It seems there is a lot of confusion between the Faustpatrone (aka the panzerfaust 30 klein ) and the panzerfaust 30 (which is what most of us picture when we think of a panzerfaust)

Yeah...as a general rule I can confirm that non german sources are often partial, inaccurate or sometimes even plain wrong or errors occur due
to wrong interpretation of information during the translating process if info is based on german text for example..in any way it is the best to take everything from a non german source with a grain of salt :P ...

For obvious reasons only german sources based on official data sheets from the HWA (Heereswaffenamt) are reliable, anything else is bric-a-brac.
I gave a specific date, number of units delivered and producer...and you can take that for real.
Weapons test ordered by the Heereswaffenamt (Wehrmacht Weapons Agency) are not to be considered entering service.
The developement of the Faustpatrone only started in Summer 1942, field and evaluation tests have been conducted towards the end of 1942.

I add screen for production numbers of Faustpatrone, Panzerfaust and Panzerschreck. As you can observe production began in 1943 and I repeat the first 500 Faustpatrone have been delivered in August 1943 and the first Panzerfaust in October 1943
This data comes from the official records of the Wehrmacht. I could qoute some other german sources too but I dont think that this is still necessary,is it?
