Anyone fancy a game at Britcon on the Friday afternoon. I've only been able to play a couple of games so far so would appreciate a 'learning experience' against someone with more games under their belt.

Alan,

I hope to be there by early afternoon, traffic permitting.

I am in the FoGR comp but would be happy to give you a game against my Prussians.

Thanks. See you there with my Anglo-Portuguese. BTW I'm competing in AM, not napoleonic.

Pending traffic as coming up from Dorset/oxon I will be up for a learning game. I'm not going to get a single game in before hand :(

So at the moment my first game of FOGN will be round 1 of Britcon :)

Nigel,

Andy Claxton is coming up with Steve and I on the Friday, so he may be able to give you a game.

He is in the FoGN competition.

I'm planning on taking some of the whole weekend's event to put up on the BHGS website(www.bhgs.org)to go alongside the ones I did for the Challenge,as with all plans I will probably be involved in lots of long games and have no time for anything else,so if anyone else manages any send them to me,I can add them to the gallery as well

@david53/@donm

Thanks for that, I can gauge how bad my French 1812 imperial guard "cavalry" corps is really going to be, as daft a choice I hope it is :)

Nigel, if you haven't arranged another game I'd be happy to play you as I'll be in Manchester at the same time as Donm.

I'm using French and would be happy to play you or anybody else that fancies a game, just let me know.

"sounds an interesting choice."

I only chose it because it will not need many units painting up in time for Britcon not from any great tactical thinking. Plus it will look very "hollywood". Although having all units bar one as superior, veteran, guard must dig me out of a few on table ineptitude moments :) although doing it in 10mms packed onto 15mm bases may still amount to the same qty of metal.

The heavy cavalry division is drying as I type.

I'm sure paddy will turn me over in about 30mins :)

Cheers

For 10mms on 15mm bases: the following I have found the following gives a reasonable balance of figs/effect:

6x figs per base for heavy cavalry

4x figs per base for light cavalry

12x figs per base of infantry

2x gun models per base.

Nigel,

10mm figs look great. So we're scheduled for a game on the Friday afternoon of Britcon, I may look to bring some Brits if I've got the space? (In Dons car!)

Do you want to PM your mobile number to me so that we can keep in touch on the day?

Regards
Andy
