Given my prestige levels, I didn't try for DV. This showcases how a skillful defense can save massive amounts of prestige.

There are still long periods during this playthrough when I think about my moves. I received an excellent suggestion to pause the recording while I think. I like this suggestion very much, but unfortunately I have already played through Kursk Armory and won't be able to do this until Prokhorovka.

Note Ponyri is now fixed.

Don't want to sound too ungrateful, but why are you're vids so blurry in HD quality (ca. 300MB per 1/2 hour on YouTube)?
Since the greatest part of the background is a static picture which is easily compressible for encoders i would expext a better (and sharper!) picture.
Do you actually record in 720p, deducter ? 'Cause if not that would explain the problem.

Thx, for your effort !

I record at half of 1920x1080, so it should actually be better than 720p. I can make out the numbers reasonably well, it's a little blurry, but hardly unreadable.

I tried recording at full 1920x1080, but that would cripple my framerate using fraps. My desktop isn't good enough to support better recording.

Perhaps the problem is that the video is too blurry relative to the resolution. If anyone here understands fraps or the reencoding process and can give me some advice on how to sharpen up videos, I can try that.

Alternatively I can make the file size smaller by trying to reencode at a resolution closer to 720, since youtube doesn't seem to scale up to 960x540.

Thx, deducter !

Slightly OT: Has anybody taken a shot at the DLC 39 scenario Wyszogrod ?
In this case "Google was not my friend" :(

I modified the campaign path in order to play ALL scenarios. Getting a MV at Wyszogrod seems pretty easy, but has anyone an idea how to achieve a DV ?
The polish army in this map substantially outnumbers my own, the map is rather large so i would be forced to spread out thin... :?:

Oh my ! Exploring the map i just realized that i theoretically could conquer Modlin and Warsaw prematurely !
A rather strange map.

Actually Wyszogrod was rather easy since the AI was pretty passive. :P

I have to get used to the fact that the DLCs objectives are quite different from those of the vanilla campaign.
I still struggle to obey OKW (High Command in english) and not smash everything in the scenario.

This is exactly the case for all the scenarios in GC43 so far with my mod. It's too crippling to my prestige levels to try to clean up all the maps. You'll notice this was the case for every game so far, I didn't cross the Donets in Kharkov/Belgorod, I couldn't win DV in Orel, and I left large quantities of Russian units unkilled in all the Kursk scenarios thus far. I think Kursk Armory North was my masterpiece in terms of strategic and tactical maneuvers, except for my incredibly poor use of the Ferdinand, getting it surrounded by Russian infantry.

I'm actually on vacation now, so I only have my laptop, all my video files are saved on my desktop. So it might be a week or two before I finish uploading 1943. I already have more scenarios recorded, was just too distracted by other things atm.

After a long wait, the video AAR of Prohkorovka is available.

I actually recorded this a few weeks ago, so it is still using GC Unit Revisions v1.10.1.
