The Eastern emperor, Theodosius, attacks the Western Empire, which is ruled by the usurper Flavius Eugenius and Arbogast, the Magister Militum. The two armies meet in a river valley near the modern day italian-Slovenian border . . .

Historical optional rule: to recreate the "bora effect" (a strong wind in that part of the world) the Western Empire may not shoot with archers from turn 10 onwards.

This scenario is another joint effort by myself and omarquatar.

As i'm not a great friend of optional house rules, here is an alternate version, where the miracle of the bora is simulated by giving the western legions no rear rank LF bows.

To compensate, the pagans have a light artillery unit more than in pete's version.
Enjoy.
