I got the hankering to play a strategic WWII game and I have Commander from when I bought it in 2007. I haven't played it since then. I installed the game and the Gold patch and the 2.0 version and started it up and was a bit shocked when I saw the black bars on the sides of the screen. My old laptop wasnt widescreen so there was nothing to notice before. Is there any way to make this widescreen or is this one of those oldfashioned wargames which basically run on only one resolution?

One resolution ...

The old Fallout-games and Diablo2 had screen resolution mods. Higher resolution would simply show more of the map, no graphical changes. I don't get why this isn't possible for CEAW, especially considering that they're still charging 30 bucks for the digital version. I got it from Amazon for 5 bucks, so I can't complain. But paying 30 bucks in 2012 for a game that only supports 1024resolution is bullsh*t.
