Impetuous Troops

A couple of clarifying questions:
(A). You have two units of British cavalry. In front is a unit of KGL heavies (non-impetuous) and behind them some impetuous Light Dragoons. The KGL declare a charge on a unit of enemy horse 6 MU away. The Lt Dragoons fail their CMT so must impetuously charge as well. The only enemy within 10MU of the Lt Dragoons is the unit of enemy horse.
If the Lt Dragoons cannot contact the enemy horse, I assume they race up to the rear of the KGL and provide rear support. Is this correct?
(B). Same scenario as above, except this time the opponent is a unit of infantry who stand and shoot. The KGL stop at 2MU and get retired to 3MU by shooting.
If (A) above is correct, I assume that the Lt Dragoons make their charge move up to the rear of the KGL, who are parked at 2MU from the enemy infantry to recieve their fire. The KGL, forced to retire, do not have the move distance to pass through the Lt Dragoons so stay at 2MU from the enemy (the 1MU they must retire, to make 3MU altogether, would not allow them to get 1/2 way through the Lt Dragoons). The Lt Dragoons take a CT as if burst through.
(C). Impetuous LC (British LC in extended line or Turks) have a non-wavering, non-skirmishing enemy to their front that would normally require a CMT to charge (as skirmishers). Do they have to CMT to charge the enemy (as skirmishers), or CMT not to charge the enemy (as impetuous)?
Cheers
