Scout can't see

Not sure if this is a glitch or if it's meant to play out that way. I was playing 2.0.4 Winter Village as the Allies. I had a US scout in the buildings. I brought up a transport with an AT gun inside. When the transport pulled up to my scout it revealed that there had been a German scout waiting in the building right next door. Fortunately, he was suppressed so he didn't fire. My scout was 2/3 and also suppressed. I thought that scouts could ALWAYS see any units up to two squares distant from them? Is this impaired when they become suppressed? I was surprised to find the enemy right next door with the scout completely unaware...

Scouts can see into blocking terrain 2 tiles away but not through blocking terrain. If there is a building/forest between you your LOS stops there.

Thanks Iain, that makes sense. So a scout wouldn't see a ranger two squares away, both in forest? But shouldn't my scout have been able to see the German scout which was immediately adjacent? It was only revealed by the transport.

Yes - hard to say without seeing exactly what you mean. Infantry always see everything adjacent to them. Could they have retreated here?
