Question: How do you utilize the Pelagasion Nobles? I realize if you choose the Pelagasion ethnicity when playing the Trojan War that some of these units will be sent to you, but is there any other scenario in which to recruit them? I've been playing the Pre-History campaign as teh Pelagasians and I can't recruit them; also, I have tried in other scenarios to no avail. Are they not available in regular play? Does that game have to be on a certain difficulty setting? Any help would be appreciated. Great game by the way, keeps me busy at work.

They require an uprgaded Heavy Infantry barracks. I cant see any reason why it wouldn't work

Do you have the copper technology to build this structure?

The problem is that I can't build Upgraded Heavy infantry Barracks. The copper research tier is completely researched, I have cities where Heavy Infantry Barracks exist, but I cannot build Upgraded Heavy Infantry Barracks. If you say that it should be simple and should work, I have to believe you and I will try to start a new game. But it will be my third attempt and I was wondering if there may be somtehing that I could change or try that might enable me to recruit this unit. thanks.

Hmm, do you have enough building space? Do you even get the option on the list but it is greyed out?

No i don't get the option at all. that's what makes me curious. if you have any ideas that would be great. Also, shouldn't the capital's special guard troops be the nobles? because they're not, they're just spearmen. I so far have not found a way to recruit the nobles, but it's still a sweet game anyway. thanks.

The data looks fine so I can't se a reason why you shouldn't be able to build them. We've not had the problem reported before. I can't think what to suggest.

The only thing I can think of is to uninstall the game. Then delete any folders remaining, reboot, then re install the game to see if it's fixed somehow.

I'm having the same problem. The capitol garrison is only spearmen instead of nobles in every Pelegasian nation i've tried so far and can only build the heavy infantry barracks despite taking the research up to the elite barracks just to be sure. If i take a city that has an upgraded or elite barracks already i can recruit the Pelegasian Nobles though, i just can't build the upgraded barracks myself for whatever reason. I bought the game through matrix if it makes a difference.

I've just tried it & everything works fine for me. I'm not sure what the problem is. You researched the Copper tech 2 & you built an advanced Heavy Infantry Barracks? Did you research any other techs? I also had Building materials tech 1.

Ok, i am not a computer person and don't really have an idea of the consequences from changing files, but i looked in the buildings text document in the data file and found the 2nd heavy infantry barracks list and the Pelasgian was not listed as able to build it. So i pasted 'MadeBy Pelasgian' in over the //no in the same slot they were in for the 1st infantry barracks, opened up the game again and there was my option to build the upgraded heavy infantry barracks where there was nothing before. Is changing this file going to cause any problems for me elsewhere in other campaigns or anything i can't think of? I have the disk so i can always reinstall it.
I noticed that my capitol garrison were still spearmen so i went on to build the large fort and the garrison are still spearmen, not a problem to me personally so i'm not really looking to change it but is it supposed to be spearmen or nobles for the capitol and large fort garrisons? I thought that maybe it's not supposed to be since the nobles initially start out at only 20 men so i'm curious.

Weird - that is what mine already says! It shouldn't cause any problems by changing this file. I think 20 is the normal size as they are individually tough.

After having this happen i remembered playing one of the pirate nations and not being able to build the upgraded infantry barracks to recruit veterans despite having them for my capitol garrison as well as your having them listed for the pirates in your unit list. Same situation, they also were not listed as able to build the upgraded barracks in the buildings text document.
