Slitherine

Does anyone know what these guys really looked like? I only get references in fragments with no documentation. Most say red and white, some say slashed clothing.

My experience has been the same. Apart from general agreement on the red and white outfit, I don't think there is any definitive information on what their "uniform" looked like. I know I've never been able to find any.

I 'm not sure they had a uniform as the reqruting was for individuals and not for subunits, white and red are the traditional color of this region ( I m writing from Romagna)

Sorry, can't help you Matteo, but if your gamers are the same as mine, paint them up as you see fit and you'll soon be told by 100 different people why you painted them up wrong

It's interesting that when it's hard to find historical information people seem to be experts after the paint has dried
