Hiigher Resolution game play?

Gentlemen,
Any way of tweaking the 'full screen' settings to run at 1900x1200 dpi?, as it does when the full screen mode is toggled off?
The graphics are sharper and info banner along the bottom takes up less screen real estate.
-Thanks

Sorry not for this game. We'll look at make it more flexible for the future but we can't retro fit that.

I'm trying to run the game on my laptop, which has a 1140 x 900 screen resolution, but I keep getting an error message saying that it doesn't support a 1024 x 768.

You might try running the game in a window. It should be fine then.

It's odd that it won't allow you to switch to 1024x768 though. Can you change to that resolution on the desktop and then try and run the game?

Cheers

Pip

It must be a laptop thing....
When I run in full screen mode, the machine, display switches, and does run in 1024x768, but the quality of the graphics, is a little softened/ fuzzy. (a bit disappointing).
Window mode, does run the game, in the native resolution, (1920x1200), but the window can not be resized or moved.
- a thought; in 'AA-Highway to the Reich', I was able to create a shortcut, with the additional properties of what resolution to run in, (as a suffix on the run line), any chance something similar could work?

- thanks for some feedback on this, it's appreciated.

I've tried lowering my screen resolution and switching to 1024 x 768, but I get the same error message.

Windowed mode found

I have to say that a game with resolution locked in 1024*768 in 2007 is a shame. I have got a 22 inches screen and this game in full screen mode has a ugly appearence. I can´t believe it, in 2007!

This game was developed by one guy and as such it cannot have all the features of games developed by large teams. There is not enough of a market for this type of game to support larger teams unfortunately.

Understood. Maybe in future games like this one...

Screen size too small

Yea I am having the same problems. I have a 24" LCD monitor and I am having a real problem seeing the game. In full screen resolution the graphics are incredibly blurry and also distorted a lot horizontally. Unplayable to say the least. It looks like one of those screenshots that has been scaled up and down too many times. Makes my eyes hurt to look at it for more than a minute.

But then I run it windowed, and the window is locked into the upper left-hand corner of the screen. It is very small and annoying in a window, but I can live with it. Better than the terrible blur and distort.

But the problem is that it is locked into the upper right-hand corner of the screen. How can I unlock this?

My monitor is such that I can't really play the game locked in the upper left - it's too far from me. It means I have to lean forward and be craning my neck upwards the whole time. That is insane.

I read the whole "it's just one guy," but honestly I can't remember any program at all in the last decade that runs in a window in a locked position onscreen. Actually any program at all, ever. What's up with that?

And more importantly, how do I unlock the position, please? Otherwise I guess I need to ask for a refund, it's just not possible to play a long game that way.

I'm not sure if it would work, but you could try using:

http://www.brianapps.net/sizer.html

This is a little app which (in theory) will let you move the window even if you can't get at the title bar.

Cheers

While resizing with this application does nothing for CEAW it does allow you to center the game window.

If I may allow myself a tiny rant from an old gamer... I still have a CRT monitor instead of a LCD one, the image quality it has is better than most LCDs and when I feel like it I can play an old game in 640x480 without any image distortion. I understand very well that game makers have to follow the current trends, but for a gamer with occasional attacks of nostalgia LCD is a very bad, inflexible technology...

I got the same error message on my msi wind.
Is there a way to launch the game directly in windowed mode? I can't find it.

Go to your CEAW folder (or in case of 1.07 patch CEAW folder inside your user folder) and open the file settings.txt, look for the line "WINDOWED_MODE 0" and change that 0 to 1

What part of the screen can you see? Maybe you could post a screenshot, that would illustrate the problem better.

PS. Are you sure you can't scroll? Have you tried moving the mouse to the border of the screen or game window?
