Well...since its still a while until I can release Panzercorps East I thought I leave this here in case somebody is looking for a way to refine his maps a bit further. It only expands on the existing layer and I have not touched the vanilla background tiles.
Hope this helps a bit. Download png and replace background layers.

Just hover the mouse cursor over the image and with right mouse button choose "save as".

i just saved them and now my tiles look all messed up any help!! please or just post a link to massis original mod so ican copy those and over write just no gamefront link as it doesnt work on my puter thnks

Why don't you use GME? It will help you avoiding this kind of things.

how could this ??...they are the vanilla tilesets only expanded by 3 more lines who show up in the editor once you open > background...

I dont know why it did what it did checked my tile folder everything seems ok just when i go to play i can see outlines of hexes with black borders and shards of water where it shouldnt be all my hexes are turned off in game Vpaulus is right shoulda used GME im soo new to this modding stuff. sorry to be such a pill with this both those links to massis tiles dont work for me One even gives me a FBI warning and game front doesnt work at all for me on this site. im on sattelite isp so it sucks for me to dl any big files over 400 mb as im only allowed 500 mb a day have to get tile cant play like that lol gives me a headache .

hmm...did you corrected the file names...the 3 layers I uploaded are LayerBaseDry,LayerBaseFrozen and LayerBaseMuddy..since I had another set uploaded Photobucket expanded the names to LayerBaseDry-1,LayerBaseFrozen-1 and LayerBaseMuddy-1
You have to edit the names back in order for the game to reckognize the layers

Dont you maintain a fresh untouched copy on your HD ?

I have my games installed in C/Games and then I have a special folder on C called C/Backup Vanilla Games
There I always have an unmodded copy of games I touch...if something goes wrong..I always have a vanilla backup
