new MP beta

I saw the post advertising the new MP beta version so thought I'd give it a try. I have so far accepted a clash of armour battle. First thing i noticed was that i wen't straight to buying screen and had no chance to see the terrain or objectives on the map i might be fighting on (which is a big influence on what units I'd select). Its been nearly a year since i played BA online but i thought there was a map preview feature. Like the campaign game i could not requisition a unit if I'd made a mistake with my force build and i was limited to buying only one scout troop (why ?). A list or visual representation of your force composition is needed so you can plan out your build. I also could see no option to purchase artillery, airstrikes or rallying and the like. It seems once i got into the battle my forces were already deployed ?
I couldn't get into to open beta discussion so i post here.

Hmmm - I checked the Open Beta forum last night and it seemed to be open to all - I will check it out.

Thanks for posting feedback! There has never been the option to see the map ahead of time, although it is definitely something people have mentioned they would like. To some extent we want people to play with the units they most enjoy (if there was a 'best' choice for a given mission, what would be the point having other choices?) but it is on our task list to at least give people an overview of the battle. You've never been able to purchase bonuses (although this was actually part of the original design). We might add that in the future for sure.

I believe all these missions are meeting engagements so we don't have a deploy phase. Generally we use deploys when one side is defending.

Thanks again for the feedback, and please let us know if you have any more thoughts, especially on the balance and costs of units :).

Cheers

Pip
