I'm very keen to play a grand strategy game, and this one looks exciting - however, I'm really not keen on the graphics at all (call me an old fart etc etc etc

). Is there the possibility to have the 'cardboard counters' type look that you get in SSG games for example?
Thanks

The game comes with a Nato unit symbol counter version set as well.

Thanks for the prompt reply, but are these detailed graphics with data intrinsic within them, or just the box with a cross in it that I've seen on some of the screen shots?

The screen icons are very basic graphics. Not cluttered with data points. Each unit when cursored appears in detail at the bottom left of screen in unit data.

I see that sounds ok - are there any screenshots showing what that looks like?

Currently Matrix Games has some easy access screens through their front page blurb announcement.

While we are on the topic of graphics...
Iain, can you say if we will be able to edit the map...It would be a nice extra to mod it so that it has more photorealistic color in spots without becoming cluttered; make the mountains and oceans look more like you would see them on google earth at that scale, maybe just exagerated (sometimes in airials of the alps, you can even see shadows on nasa world wind, etc..). Is this possible, without messing up the terrain coding?
Customization is key to longevity in any niche game or series.
