I recieved the following message when trying to update;

Error:

Unable to download file.
An error occured while trying to open an FTP file.

NB: I have downloaded the PS2.0 Shader for playing CoH.

If you already applied the beta update, the automatic updater will not work. You may have to reinstall the game, then use the update from the game menu. However, sometimes things remain in the Windows registry that will still tag the game as already updated.

Either wait for a better answer, or take a chance on an uninstall, install, update.

Thanks for the advice but unfortunately it hasn't changed anything. I uninstalled the game and removed PS2.0 and then reinstalled the game but to no avail. Still have the same error message

Looking fo any further ideas.

You can install the game and install the update and the future updates manually.
Just download with this link.

Have you seen if you have any file in the subfolder Patches in your COH main folder?

I've manually downloaded and updated to 1.2 successfully so thanks but the game still crashes immediately stating the problem regarding the shader. The beta PS2.0 worked on my PC but this update that says it will work doesn't
