Hi,

i am a newbie and willing to test against a "human" :)
it seems that every challenge issued is protected with code.
How do you discuss about all of this?
BTW there are few challenges, I read about 30 (with 10 different players) is it normal?

Hi,
Just issue a challenge and do not put any password on it. Someone is probably going to pick it soon.

The one with passwords are private games.

Cheers and welcome!

Usually the games that don't have a password are taken up fast by other players, so they don't stay up for too long.

The passworded games are usually games that are part of a tournament or league, but sometimes just friendly games between two players who know each other(there aren't that many of us here, so you'll get to know everyone pretty fast). The in-forum private message(PM) system is often used for communicating about passworded games.

Probably the easiest way to get started in multi-player is to play a scenario.

1) On the main screen, click Multiplpayer.
2) Login with the username and password you used to register (and normally the same as the forum).
3) Click on "Issue a challenge" tab.
4) Click on "Issue a scenario challenge..."
5) Click on a scenario. Heraclea and Cynocephalae are a couple good ones or some of the Starter Army battles if you want one smaller.
6)Choose what side you want to play or paired games where you would set up two games where you will play each side in one of the games.
7) Check "Fog of War" and/or "Double moves" if you want to use those.
8) Click "Issue challenge" and then wait for someone to pick up the challenge. If you have email notifications enabled in your profile on the Slitherine site, you will get email when someone accepts your challenge and when it's your move. Otherwise check back occasionally on the multiplayer screen to see if it's your turn.

Where can one check FoW? I created a MP session, could check double move, but there was no FoW option...

The "Fog of War" check box should be right above double moves. If you don't see it, then you may want to make sure your copy is updated to the latest version (1.8.1, I think).

Hi Chris,

I have the updated version and no there's no FoW option. Someone told me it might be that it is because I own only the base game and FoW was implemented with one of the expansions. So one must have at least one exp to have FoW - which I don't like actually. FoW is an essential aspect in wargames and should come free as a feature not as a premium add on for those who buy more than others.
