Changing Manstein?

I was just wondering if it would be possible to globally change the Manstein level of difficulty to just add 2 or 3 strength points to every unit. I have played several of the DLCs on Manstein and I really just find it a grind and think it would pose the kind of challenge I am looking for if it only added 2 or 3 strength points instead of 5.

Afaik the difficulty level can't be change directly.

You could however change the max unit strength value for every opposing unit to 12 or 13 (or what you prefer) in the equipment file. Of course that would be quite a tedious task, and the changes would affect every game, regardless of difficulty level selected.

You'd need a backup of the original equipment file to go back to the "normal" state.

Well it is a bit tedious but it wouldn't take forever. I will try and get it done this weekend.

One thing -I don't know if it changes units already placed in the editor to the new strength (so most in scenarios already made) - that would need to be tested.

I think Manstein would add 5 to whatever the max strength is, so you would need to set them to 7 or 8 to get 12 or 13.

I have modded the equipment.pzeqp file to give Russian, Polish and Yugoslav units (nations = 3, 6 and 16) a max strength of 7. Right-click, Save link... Make a backup of the original before you use this one.

The data filter and copy-down works a treat in Excel - it took about 5 minutes to do this. :)
