The follow up battle to Lewes finds Simon de Montfort's army trapped in the town of Evesham . . .

Once again, my thanks to dav956 for help with the play-testing.

Thanks pete. I played Lewes and was waiting for this one. Simon de Montfort may have been a jerk but he was courageous. "Then it's time to die." Can't wait to find out how you solved the play balance problem with this rather one-sided encounter.

I think it is fair to say that this would work best as a paired game, Zeabed. It is very tough for de Montfort although he did break out successfully in one of the play-tests. The initial impact is absolutely crucial for him here.

That is abundantly clear, pete, just by firing up the scenario and looking at the initial set up. What clinched it for de Montfort in the actual battle was that he initially thought that Ed I's troops were his own (de M's) adherents come to join him. He found out too late. This is as you say a two player game or a carefully balanced solitaire game.
