The new BHGS web-site is now live at http://www.bhgs.org.uk. Information and entries for BritCon, Roll Call and other BHGS events are there.

A big thank you to Martin “Nobby” Neale and James “Hammy” Hamilton for all the hard work they have put in over the last six months to get the web-site and BritCon organised. It has been a mammoth effort and there is still a lot of work to be done.

Thank you everyone for your patience.

BritCon has changed!
While we have tried to keep to the successful BritCon format of the past we have been forced to make some changes. We have also listened to feedback and made changes that will improve BritCon. We hope you like what we have done. Either way, let us know what you think.

Why the new URL?
We have not migrated everything from the http://www.bhgs.co.uk web-site. As I am sure you can appreciate there is a decade of material there. When everything has been moved across we will shut down the old site and transfer the domain name.

How do I send feedback?
If you have any questions, comments or spot any errors about specific competitions then please email the competition organisers whose details are on the competition information pages.
If the information is about the new web-site then please contact nobby@cuboids.co.uk.
Or if you would prefer then use the Contact page on the new web-site.

Mod edit:
The BHGS are delighted to announce the dates for this year's Britcon have now been confirmed as Friday 10th – Sunday 12th August 2012

At least!
Hmm...
15mm Ancients: 800 points, armies up to 1066 AD, 60" by 40" tables
15mm Medieval: 800 points, armies from 1066 AD, 72" by 48" tables
:?:

Can you translate in civilised distance ?
I'm afraid to understand....

Sure, five feet by three and a quarter feet and six feet by four feet.

It's easy once you get your hand in.

Three and one third by Two and one fifth cubits for ancients
So 7.4 square cubits*

Medieval is the normal ten and two thirds square cubits*

These may have been called dodecabits, but I'm not sure

Just think of all the people you are making happy because they no longer have to spend 3 hours chasing a Sassanid army around a billiard table with their Hellenistic Greeks and Romans though :-)

tim
(Who is actually almost enjoying playing AM in our club competition of 650AP on 48"x36" tables right now)

See, they didn't need V2 just smaller tables.

But if it brings Tim back perhaps its a bad idea

On 60x40 tables heavy infantry contests aren't sluggish.

But they are bloody.

I'm torn. :?

Who's doing what? I take it from this post that you will be in the late period. Where are other people going?

Yeah, it's more fun to see a blob, entrenched in rough, behind an iC umbrella waiting you, being sure to no army has the time in 3h30 to broke you...

BTW Sassanians have not Steppe as option and it's not my style to be chased 3 hours by any armies 8)

I am going to match Shaun with regards to period. I suspect it will be early.

Army choice could be very interesting :) Roll Call will be interesting indeed.

Well, it appears we're all waiting on Shaun then.

Shaun?

Don't think he frequents this board very often. I'll send him a PM and have also put something on the FoG yahoo list.

I've sent him an email. I think his response was something along the lines of:
"You hear me talkin' Hillbilly boy? I ain't through with you by a damn site. I'm gonna get medieval on your ass."

I am thinking Medieval as the Australian Nationals and Worlds next year are an open on 6x4. I will decide this weekend and post so Dave and I can have our grudge match.

Unfortunately I do not have an early period army that I like in 5x3 for 800 pts.

Its 5'x3'4", 60x40 MU, so a bit deeper, same table proportions. Makes a difference.

How does anybody from NZ have the balls to call someone from a civilised country a hillbilly?

His name is obviously also due to the confusion his father had after his birth:

"Its already shorn Doctor"

Phil, stop trying to pull the wool over our eyes! I think you need to broaden your horizons; suggest a visit to your local video store this weekend instead of practicing for Britcon; pull a couple of Tarantino movies.
