As the title says...
Iam still pondering about the map markers, especially the $ one, and how they work...
The editor manual does not adress this issue or am I blind ?
Could somebody enlighten me a bit..its pretty dark around here...

It was included after the manual was printed. From 1.04 IIRC. How those special markers are used is up to you. In the DLCs they indicate zones on the map. The $ could be used to indicate a prestige boost. e.g. if you take the town marked with the $ you will get 1000 prestige. I have never used it but that's how I would use it. The A, B and C I have used to indicate where units need to get to to meet victory conditions.

ummm...strange....I mean all that can be done with the 32 trigger zones too, could it?
Example : If axis flag in zone 1=1 or >0 add 1000 prestige

Yes, but the markers are to let the player know where the zones are, otherwise they are relying on the briefing alone.
For example, some DLC scenarios require the player to escort units from one part of the map to a general location. That general location is marked on the map with one of those markers. e.g. all of Zone 2 might be the 'B' marker.

ahhh..ok..so they are not actually tied to the script but mere visual hints for a player cause they are displayed on the actual ingame map...
so in fact they lack a real function which is tied to them particuarly...okidoki...I think I got it...for my purpose I can ignore them then..thnx
