Is there any chance we'll see a video of the map editor in action any time soon?

That is a great idea. At least to go through some of the basics – and some things a bit beyond that – would be good.
The Map Editor can be somewhat difficult to get used to, but if you stick with it and keep trying – you can get it. After all – if I can, anyone can.

Just the basics and maybe setting up a very small map (a single chateau/farmhouse complex) on a low rise with an orchard and stream, small dirt road and gully?) to show how it works. If I'm to buy the game, that's personally important, but even moreso as I have to install the game via Wineskin or reinstall a Bootcamp partition to play. Thanks!

Actually, if anyone could spend an hour doing something like that and posting a pic or two, I'd be very grateful.
