Not quite true, though - ask the French about 1871. Of course, they may be neglecting the wartime achievements of Prussia.

For the non UK members of the forum, Jeremy Clarkson's humour should perhaps be explained. He deliberately spends most of his time dealing in stereotypes, very un pc comments and generally trying to annoy everyone, he is either loved or loathed. I'm a fan, just because he breaks the mould of an increasing po faced society.

... and the war against Austrian Empire of 1866... But I guess the joke refers to the XX century only. The best thing about this joke, is that it was written in German, so it means that the Germans aren't so humorless at the end...

It`s funny and very well presented, I love even the title.

"The Germans..." sounds like just a bunch of people, like in the film "Gladiator": "I present to you ... the barbarian horde!"
