At the Matrix Games site today, I noticed that they had Commander Europe at War screenshots and a link to your website. Does this mean that the game will be available from Matrix Games for Canadian customers? I don't recall seeing any announcement from Slitherine or Matrix about Matrix being the distributor in North America. I also assume that the game will be available shortly. Thanks in advance for any info.

Somehow the news leaked and we needed to get the offical release out before we could confirm
Yes Matrix are our publishing partner for North America and this is an extension of our previous agreements. We already have 5 games released through Matrix. When people do a good job we like to continue working with them

So, since some lucky people already have seen the new screens is there any chance they'll appear for us all?
Edit> Ok, they're back!

Does the game will be available in stores or just in the Matrix online store?

It will vary country by country and be up to the local publisher/distributor. This is not yet fully finalised so at the moment all we can say is Akella are publishing in Russia and Matrix in North America.

Have been playing WW2 GS games since the 1960s and currently own almost all board and computer games in that genre.
I am very seriously hoping that you will allow the option to pay an additional $10.00 - or whatever price Matrix assigns to your game,
So that I can purchase both the digital download, and the disc or game box, however it is to be packaged.
This game looks very intriguing, but I would most likely not buy it unless I might also have the disc as well.
Anything might happen to the files or my hard-drive, or I might purchase a new computer.
Please consider this option.
I would bet that many potential buyers would prefer the same option. Why not do all that you can
To maximize your sales?

I can't say how it will be with this game, but in case of all games I bought as downloads you pay for the game and right to download it not just download it once. So you can redownload it as many times you want, any time. Not to mention one can always print the box, burn the download on the CD and viola.

I agree with Panther. For me CD copy is the way to go. Downloads does not make me feel like owning the game at all. Usually Matrix get the download available first and then the CD. The game is a sure winner and if I was them I would put it in retail.

I appreciate the advice.
However, given the volatile and unpredictable nature of the "Net Business" in general, who is to say that the DL source will be yet active or available
When it is needed?
Many formerly robust companies are now out of business.
Now that you've mentioned copying to a fresh disc, my next question for Slitherine would be -- how are you going to handle "disc protection?"
Will there be a unique number assigned -- that needs to be somehow verified?
Thanks.

I think they are doing the right, Matrix is a superb publisher! And has vast experience with wargames.
Yes, the game is password protected a long digit number. Must also be plotted with each patch.
Matrix give normal the following choices: digital download only
digital download and the boxed game
only the boxed game.
The choice is Yours

This seems a bit silly, what's the reason for this?

Must be the copy protection.
Perhaps You can ask Matrix themselves.....I do not work for them.
