Got the FoG rules Sunday, last night had a chance to sit and read through.
-The combat system seem to be something that can be done without looking up charts and reference sheets, once learned,
a plus for me.
-The games seems slanted towards the tactical not grand tactical, not that this is bad.
-Morale, training and armor class seem to be more important than shear numbers, which to my view is correct.
-The army lists seem to have the flavor of the DBM lists, for example I saw the Late Republican Romans have 18 stands of Legionaires. However there are more grades of the Legionaires, which to my untrained eye seem reasonable.
-Missle fire from mounted and skirmishers , what a novel idea.
-Not sure what a battlefield will look like in FoG. With the BG is there as much lead on the table in a typical battle as DBM?
I do like to play with as many of my troops as possible.
-Overall, I think is looks playable and fun, and seems to simulate an ancient battle. Looking forward to playing FoG.

My 1st game will be Saturday, at Bayou Wars. Chris Johnston is running a demo. I will record my 1st Impression of
actually playing the game.
