changing AI behaviour from defender to attacker during game

Hi guys,

I' m not sure if this feature is implemeted in the editor or not (maybe I didn`t find it):

Is it possible to have the AI behaviour changed from, let's say, "defender" to "attacker" during the gameplay, i.e. "turn 11" ?

E.g., if the player is advancing too slow, enemy units that were hiding behind their defences suddenly start to attack.

This would enable some very interesting strategies from the game developers' perspective.

Happy Easter!

Sebastian

Yes, it is possible. By using zones and the AI action triggers found in the Edit, Scenario parameters dialog box you can change the behaviour of units according to the trigger conditions you set. Normally units are set to the stance of Defend, Passive so that they don't move and then the trigger will set them to the desired stance. E.g. When there are 3 Allied units in zone 1 all units in zone 2 will be set to Attacker. There are plenty of other options.

Hi El_Condoro, thanks for the answer.

I was searching for this feature in the unit parameter dialog box, but yes, it's in the
SCENARIO PARAMETER DIALOG BOX, "AI ACTION." Makes it easier to work with, bec. you don`t have to tag each unit. Just mark an area with a zone number and define the overall behaviour, that's it. Cool.
