I found this lecture by the famous David Glantz done recently in which he talks about "forgotten battles" of WWII. It's staggering to realize that the Soviets launched far more massive offensives than previously thought, at least by those in the west. The DLCs are actually fairly accurate in the respect that often the Soviets just attacked over and over again, suffering horrendous casualties. This strategy, while ruthless, ultimately did succeed by attrition.

I often wonder about the phenomenon of col. Glantz. The lecture above is very adudience friendly and enjoyable, yet a lot of his books are simply impossible to read and I think, that they would need some better editors work. Still, David Glantz is one of the most important contemporary WWII historians and his work prove time and again, that the full story still needs to be told.
That's why the role of PC is so important and why we push you so much in some aspects;)
