Looking for Games

would like to match up with someone in somewhat historically correct battles. I just want to play games where the opponents are what would be expected. How you make up the army and deploy ok, Just no Irish against the Byzantines or the Arabs against the english (outside of the Crusades)? Or am I asking too much? It seems to me that a lot of men here just want to develop "dream teams" A 1000 point Swiss pike army marching across the battlefield. What a joke. If you offer up a game, should you not give an idea of who you are? Otherwise it is just generic ... mf, hf, hc, etc. there is no need to even refer to nation, culture, time at all. These traits plus skill, leadership, willpower etc. produce results. Or lack of results. So is there anybody who wants to match up where you STATE WHAT YOUR ARMY IS? I will match up historically with an army and I will not send the Swiss to North Afica or the Mongols to england. It is silly to me that you would NOT want to match up somewhat historically. It is not like the Marians just dropped in.

PS I am somewhat depressed that I DID NOT win the $640,000,000 Jackpot.

Some players show what army they have made in their challenges. Usually these are the players that want a historical match-up, so they announce their army to the opponent. You should play against such challenges. If you make your own, you can show what army you have, but be warned, perhaps half your opponents are ones who will bring historical armies against you.

Thats right i prefer to play an enemy army i know my opponent has. Nothing worse than taking on a challange with Anglo Irish to find you are fighting the Swiss on a Flat track

Jim and Turk,

If you want to play some WotR battles, I would only be too happy to join in with you for a game or three. Just let me know what size army you are using.

Jim, do you want to suggest two armies to play? Maybe a Condotta match-up or Medieval Castilians versus Portuguese? The Anglo-Irish and Irish match-up is good too.
