When a 4 stand unit has attached skirmishers is this represented as 3 stands of 8 figures and 1 stand of skirmishers?

Also attached officers, is this a seperate base making it 5 stand unit, or do I put a mounted command figure on an infantry stand?

All attachments replace one of the bases of a unit or cavalry or infantry it is attached to.

In the case of a brigade commander, would this be a single mounted officer or a command group on the stand (flag etc)?

Hi,

A Brigade Commander is a single figure on the same base size as Infantry and Cavalry (e.g 40x30mm for 15mm scale figures).

Would it be a problem if he had some 'friends' on the base?

I think a unit of line with a commander and attached skirmishers would look a bit bare.

I don't think it would be a problem as long as you tell your opponent.
