No stepping forward? And Targets of assault

Just making sure.

_AA

FF
FFCC

So if A assaulted straight (which maybe it can't as it must wheel to get its center slightly lined up. I realize now the mechanics of this as i parse the text)

So A is not going to step forward because mainly there are no rules for stepping forward.

So generally speaking unless units are flush edge in line, one unit can only assault one unit? Is that basically right?

It seems like I keep needing to remind myself that you can't import FOG R or AM references. That's not a criticism. Just need to keep remembering its totally different.

Yeah - but importing assumptions is easy to do.

No stepping forward in FoGN. Your unit is a block or a line that simply needs needs to touch the enemy block or line to fight it. If you touch two enemy units, you fight two enemy units.

No need to line up bases, hit square on or carry out any of the mechanisms usually neccessary with element-based combat systems.
It is simply unit plays unit.

Hi,

And unlike FOGA/FOGR the units rarely stay in contact from turn to turn. One or the other will usually have an outcome move and recoil a little or a lot.
Because of this, there is no need to line them up as if they were on a parade ground.
