Tanks won't "hold fire"

Hi guys,

Have been playing Battle Academy for ipad for the last week and have almost finished the desert campaign.

I am confused though... On one of the defensive missions, I deploy my tank units to the hills and tell them to hold fire. However, as soon as an enemy unit moves within range, my tanks open fire, thus giving away their position and spoiling my ambush...

This seems to be a problem with tanks only. My anti-tank guns and infantry seem to follow my "hold fire" instructions much more strictly!

Any ideas??

If the enemy can see the Tanks, then they will cancel their hold fire order, so perhaps there are some enemy infantry hiding nearby? Or they were scouted out?

Cheers

Pip,

Thanks for the quick response!
So, just to clarify:

1) The tanks will cancel their "hold fire"order as soon as an enemy spots it - even if the enemy does not shoot at it?
2) Someone (you?) mentioned that a tank on a hill only becomes hidden on the turn after arriving on the hill (if it arrived on the hill without being seen). In my case I deploy my allied tanks directly onto the hill. The Germans then take the first turn and shoot at my tanks. Is it possible that my tanks are visible because they "have not had time to become hidden"yet? I.e. they would be hidden on the next turn only? (PS. I am playing "hold the pass" and deploying tanks on the hills right infront of where the Germans will arrive - next to the fortified infantry)

Thanks again!

Andre

1 - yes, once the enemy can see you, hold fire will cancel.
2 - it's possible. Without duplicating the circumstance it is hard to be sure.
