Scenario 01:

Enjoyed it much more than the '43 mega-slaughters. Won decisive on Turn 16 on General level with somewhere around 6500 prestige left. It seemed to go up as the game progressed. I used probably a couple thousand (maybe less) on repairs and such during the scenario. The Russian fighters were destroyed after about 6 turns although more showed up around turn 15. Each time something died (surprisingly not too much really) I wanted to purchase a replacement (Tiger) but nooOoOoooo...you had to limit the core...evil ones! 8)

Edit: Used '44 core that starts the campaign (nothing imported).

Scenario 02:

Bleccchhh! Dead by about turn 12.

I suppose most playing this will have followed through all the campaigns and be much more expert than me, but the Russian armour is just overwhelming as it comes in and up from the west.

Hmm, any specific information you have to share on that?

What difficulty for example. I assume you were using the non-imported Core.

There are quite a few units that attempt to cut off your retreat in scenario 2, and they attack you in a pincer, but the vast majority of them aren't top of the line equipment. There's a lot of T60s, old T34s, and Lend Lease tanks too. Your two Panthers and two Tigers should totally outclass these units even if you didn't buy more of them.

Just bogged down around turn 12 or so, having fought through the city at the bend of the river, and at least a dozen Russian tanks in the way around the airport south of there. I'll try again and see if I can do any better. I don't seem to have any panthers...they must have died in the first scenario. I'll see about replacing them. Yes, non-imported core, on General level. I'll track how many turns it takes to get over the river.

Replayed:

Decisive on turn 19 but ending with: a core of 21 units (including 1 (only) inf., 3 arty, 5 air) and prestige of 4616 to start scenario 3.

Was over the river in force by about turn 6. By turn 7, at Taine, I could see 20 Russian vehicles. By the time I had destroyed these so I could advance, it was around turn 13 and another wave came in from the west (could see 13). What fighters I had taken (4) had been destroyed, along with 2 stukas. In the mad dash to reach 'C' area, two panthers were surrounded and left behind, along with the infantry.

It was not an enjoyable scenario for me. Just constant swarms coming in. I understand how there are players here, with imported cores and 30 000+ prestige, who find the game easy on Manstein level, but for someone less intense/serious about it, who just likes to enjoy the game, I have to say you've kinda left me behind somewhere in '43. The first '44 scenario was fun. This one was just overwhelming in swarms.

Here's what I faced at turn 7 having driven over the river at the city just north and off screen:

I didn't find this scenario very difficult, even with the GC44 starting core. How did you try to defeat the Soviet AT units around Hill 239? I noticed your tanks aren't overstrength, which leads me to think you attacked the Soviet AT units with your own tanks.

Finally managed to find a bit of time to download. Everything installed fine and the first scenario played well.

Apologies for this being a crazy time with deadlines and such! Now I know how you guys feel when you are under a JD deadline!!!
