Fishing here but would the above be classed as Reformed troops due to their make up as per French units.

I'm sure they will be reformed (French doctrine, integral skirmishers) but it's a complete guess what morale class they will be. They were probably the worst of the Confederation troops (although Saxon infantry might give them a run for their money).

In playtest games I fielded my Westphalians as all poor drilled. They performed pretty well - nailed an Anglo-Allied army in one game, bizzarely they avoided the Dutch divisions and annihilated the English ones. Fun game.

Yes I fear for them as well, the problem was the lack of a proper state, unlike the Saxons, Hanoviarians ect
Westfalia was a bir of a mish mash.


So yes not to good maybe some average would be good Cavalry and Artillery for instance and may be some guard units.

But in defense of the Westphalians, They do "paint-up" nicely, and I have 20 stands of them!
By the way, would they have a regiment of "jaegers" and would they be green?

The Jager Garde had green coats and the Line Light foot started out with blue coats and then changed to Green also, not seen any list just going of what was raised for Russia.

I hope that they have the two regiments of Kurassiers while were at it the two regiments of Hussars would also be quire good.

Can I just remind you that FoGN is not an individual unit set of rules, so if an army only had two units of a particular type you will only normally see it as one unit (Brigade) on the table.

Well that would limit the Westphalians as they only had four Cavalry regiments two light and two heavy and one Guard Cavalry, and eight Line Infantry Regiments.

Well that would limit the Westphalians as they only had four Cavalry regiments two light and two heavy and one Guard Cavalry, and eight Line Infantry Regiments.

There were approx 22,000 in the invasion of Russia, with 18,000 in Jerom'es corps.
With just over 3,000 cavalry it works out as 18 bases of cavalry and 44 bases of infantry in Russia.
We have been slightly generous with the Westphalian list in allowing them all to fight together.

Just wondered what sources did you use for this army, don't disagree mind, just collecting as much infomation on them as possible myself.

A mix - Digby Smith's Napoleonic Wars data book, George Nafziger's 1812, also his free online set of orders of battle, a recent pubication 2011 by John H Gil "With Eagles to Glory Napoleoen and his German Allies in the 1809 Campaign" ( highly recommended but maybe try Amazon or remainder stores in the future as it retailed at £29.99!
