Help! Just installed with patch and scrolling is extremely slow and erratic; virtually unusable. If I go to the edge of the screen it doesn't move without multiple tries, then jumps across the entire large game map. Clicking the mini-map has a delay of 4-5 seconds. Dragging the playing area is slow and jumps erratically. Clicking on a unit, button, or tab takes 4-5 seconds to register. I have multiple other high graphics/high CPU load games that run fine including HOI 2 and 3, Forge of Freedom, Empires in Arms. Those all have the same style user interface with mini-map and scrolling and all run great. HP dv9500, Vista 64 bit, 4 Gb ram, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS, latest drivers, DirectX, and .Net. Suggestions?

More info: Tried XP compatibility mode and scrolling worked great - for about a minute. Then it got progressively slower until after 3-4 minutes it was as slow as described in the post above. Even typing in the name of a saved game is slow. Each letter takes 4-5 seconds to show up, so a six character name takes 30 seconds to type.

Also, uninstalled DivX. Now movie works, didn't before. Doesn't seem to have any effect on gameplay though.

Could you please try to turn off as many other process working in the background? Especially the antivirus software (be sure to unplug your machine from the web then).
