Crossbow versus armoured foot.

5.04: Armoured foot : - : bow, javelins, sling. so a crossbow is at 0

6.00: Armoured foot : - : any except longbow. so a crossbow is at -

Did you intend to make this change when you redesigned the table, or have I misunderstood the 5.04 reference sheet?

There was me about to find the bit where it isn't a change and lo, it is.

IIRC the idea was that crossbow were - against all foot and 0 against all mounted. Looking at my older QRS that was not the case for armoured foot.

You have misunderstood the 5.04 reference sheet. It had an entirely separate line for crossbows, firearms and artillery vs all foot (other than battle wagons).

Crossbows are (and were) at:

-1 vs all foot (to reflect slow rate of shooting)
+1 vs elephants
0 vs all other mounted

The old chart clearly had scope for misunderstanding, which is why it was changed. The intended rules have not changed.
