Again i last nights game.
A BG of lonbowmen charged the flank of a BG of fragmented knights. The knights drop to broken at impact. Is there an impact phase combat?
The knights survived the CT for being charged but were automatically broken when I hit.
Should I have rolled 2 dice for impact against none for the knights?
It didn't matter as it happened because the knight rolled 1 for their VMD and were caught by the longbow and autobroken.

No. There is no "normal" combat against broken troops - (see rules P.xx - end of combat section I think).

So in this case:
- I charge
- they test and pass and stand there
- I make contact
- they break
- they flee, no combat
To be honest I didn't dig through the rules as I haven't printed out V6.0 yet. It's just that the knights broke after I hit them but there was no combat which felt a touch odd.

They flee (and are pursued) at the end of the phase.
The lack of combat is a rules simplification. If pursuers maintain contact they kill a base at the end of each pursuit move.
