Hi guys,
last friday i had a game with Guy. Some rule points were unclear:
Post combat consequences.
During a melee phase one of his BG broke and one of mine broke in a separate fight. the order of the pursuit/root moves was crucial. Can i choose the order in wich combat are resolved or are they simultaneous? If i can choose, his rooting BG will cross friends. We played it that way.
roots and interpenetrate friends
He had to root with a BG who lost in close combat. But the rooting path crossed friends who were fighting in another close combat. His root move wasn't long enough to clear path , even with 2 extra MU. What happens? We decided that he doesn't makes all of his root moves but the friend BG is concidered interpenetrated and looses a cohesion level.
Break off
A BG of my cav was fighting in 2 directions against his foot wariors. At the Jap i said i don't have to break off as i am fighting in 2 directions, so i don't loose a cohesion level for "not being able to complete a break off move..."
Plz help

Err, I think you mean "rout" rather than "root". Root and interpenetration has a sexual connotation in the southern hemisphere.

The extra 2 MU only applies to light foot (p. 48, left hand column, 6th bullet, 1st hash).
If you read the top of p. 49, left column, 1st bullet, it states that BGs making an evade or a rout move move the full extent of their move. If that move does not clear all friends, it is placed beyond any BG(s) it is currently bursting through if there is room for it beyond, otherwise it is destroyed and removed from the table.
I believe you are correct in regards to the break-off.

Correct in fact you can't break off when fighting in two directions.

There is something on p 106 which suggests the active player decides the order

Either you can get through or you do not.
There is no limit on how far a unit may pass through to the far side of another BG.
So if you couldn't move through for some reason than no cohesion level is lost.
