1943 Grand Campaign tested by Robert

Hi,
I finished the 1st scenario by a marginal victory.
But one more turn and I achieved a V.
I like the idea to bring back the BA64 recons to the German lines.
Scenario 2: ongoing.
Apparently this is a huge tank battle campaign!
Very funny so far!

Scenario 2: One more turn and I had a V. I achieved a marginal victory. I discovered too late the existence of a VH at the extreme upper right of the map. My fault.
Scenario 3 (Orel): ongoing.

Orel: decisive victory. I like pretty much the Soviet reinforcements by waves, well thought!
I also like to have the choice for Kursk, the north against infantry and the south against tanks.
I choosed the south since my army has a lot of Tigers.
Yakovlevo: Two more turns and I had a decisive victory, sad! Marginal victory.
Oboyan: ongoing scenario.

Oboyan: Decisive Victory.
A very long scenario I think and it is a long way to go to the top north of the map.
I lost many good experiences units (especially arty with SDKFZ 251).
I like the idea to capture enemy tanks, I got a Sherman!!!
But as I "feared" when I read the scenario intro file when really starting the Kursk offensive, the player needs decisive victories continuously otherwise he will finally lose the battle. This is not a problem but the player must really be a very good player to ensure such a result.
I start Prokhorovka now.
No design problem so far in this great campaign!

Prokhorovka: Decisive victory but at the cost of very best core units
I like the massive and deadly Soviet counterattacks with tanks.
Recon is key otherwise the player is doomed.
I think the Soviet air force is quite strong.
I lost a Me 109 G with 5 stars and 2 Wuhrframen 40 (nebelwerfers) with 5 stars too!
I am still wondering if it is better to use self propelled arty or canons with SDKFZ 251 (easily destroyed during transport).
Dniepropetrovsk: Decisive victory.
Please correct the name: "Dniepropetrovsk" and not "Dnipropetrovsk"
In the readme file of Kremenchug you write correctly the "Dniepr" river.
Kremenchug: Marginal victory.
Sadly because I hold all VHs until 2 turns before the end when I was suprised by the counteroffensive.
I don't know how you manage to have such offensives at the end of a game but this is nicely implemented.
I lost a 5 stars Stuka, my fault, I did not provide any escort. I had destroyed all Oviet airforce without thinking a few turns later a new offensive would take place with new units including fighters! Nicely implemented!
Attention: Soviet units when moving at sea (naval transport) have the sound of soldiers moving on foot! --> this should be corrected (BUG inside).
Kiev: Decisive victory
I like the airborne assaults.
I was able to win from turn nr 14 because I captured all VHs but the game keeps going on, I guess is it normal because it is a defensive scenario.
Beta has expired, cannot play anymore.
OK I uninstalled the beta and installed a new one; I was able to finish the campaign and to import my core forces to start the 1944 DLC.
General comments so far:
This is clearly a campaign based on tank battles (it was a good idea to offer choices to play scenarios with infantry, this increases the probability to replay the campaign).
BTW: I lose the possibility to playtest this campaign next week ?
In my e-mail I saw the beta was not working anymore from Monday on (last day is this Sunday).
Sad, I can only play during WE so I cannot play a whole campaign continuously...
I know you already answered the questions but all scenarios should be playable separately too like the original game.
I would have also liked to have a huge map of Kursk with one single scenario so that the player will have to use real tactical and strategical skills, I like viewing the whole front on a single map. Separating the whole battle in mini and multiple scenarios is fine but I would have preferred the other way.
Just my two cents...
I had a lot of heroes, nice!
