I just finished up a DAG battle with Alucca (Low Countries army). It was a tough battle. My flank move on his column attempting to hit my center stopped his assault in its tracks. The damage was done, however, and both armies broke.

He broke my army first but then went on to suffer more casualties.

I ended up gaining a better percentage of Break Points. How would this be rated in a tournament? Its a Draw but if one side routs the other first is that a victory? Or would you go on the percentage of BPs?

I want to know this for my own Campaign I am running. We have yet to start and this was a good example of something that the players should know going in.

Frankly I would say that even though he broke me first his army suffered a higher percentage. But some could say that because my army broke first the losses were moot.

What say ye who are running tournaments and campaigns?

I could not find Alucca in the directory of members for the forum so I am not sure if he has activated his forum user. Tried to PM him to see about a rematch!

For a Campaign I would say you both lost, and the crows won To reflect that he suffered higher losses (assuming army casualties are factored in for subsequant battles) if the two armies meet again maybe his could be x% smaller? See the Lost World campaign thread on how causalties were accounted for wins losses and draws. Cheers!

Who would advance in a tournament situation? Someone has to be the victor ...

A replay? Or the tournament organiser tosses a coin? I would have tossed a coin if there had been a drawn game in my KO tournament.

Whilst I'm a fan of FOG I've never personally liked the sole criteria of a victory being BG's lost and in both Lost World and Killer torney I added percentage casualties inflicted to help balance things (IMO). This is especially as a lost elite cataphract counts a one BG the same as a loss poor skirmisher.

For a campaign I would always want to have both.
