Battle of the Bulge - Battered & Besieged

Scenario does not work. I can drag units around and proceed to the next turn but the Germans attack from one direction only (default top left) when they should attack from all directions according to the scenario info. This continues until all those attacking from that direction have been destoyed but nothing else happens in future turns. The mission info always stays with the setup info, I get no turn number info.

We've not had any other reports of this issue. Can you be more specific about what you mean by "always stays with the setup info".

Can you let me know the version number and the platform you are playing on.

Cheers

Pip

Can I post a picture? If not I get no indication of turns progressing, just the initinal scenario info you get during the deploy segment.

I think you can post a picture - although I believe you might need to host it on an image hosting site (or you include a link for us).

From what I can see there is no turn counter in this mission. You just need to hold onto the village VP?

Can you let me know if you are on PC and Mac, and the version number. Thanks!

Cheers

I don't have access to nor inclined to use a image hosting site.

I do not see how there cannot be a turn counter for any scenario? The length is 20 turns normally and this info does not come up.

Its a PC and I'm patched to the latest version.

Can I send a save?

I am having the same issue.

I destroyed the first wave, then nothing. I noticed a turn or two after no German had appeared that there was no turn counter. I sent a truck on a recon to the South, and confirmed that there are German units there. I've gone through twelve or fifteen turns.

I tried on Mac, v 1.8.0 and it works fine.
It's true that briefings says that is a 20 turn mission and there are no counter, so you don't know how many turn still left.

I've run through over 20 turns without further computer action. I don't know if this is a problem unique to the PC version, or whether it is a bug related to a specific action (like recapturing the VP in the upper left), but I suspect it is something like the later, since there don't appear to be a lot of people reporting this issue.

If you can recall the sequence of events you used, can you try again from a fresh start on the mission and see if the issue occurs again. I will look into it here - although it's unusual for me to be in a winning position on any scenario - so I will check the scripts as a first attempt :).

Same problem me too (pc version). I tried the mission a couple of times. The first time, after a first wave from north, nothing else happened for a lot of turns, than I started the game again and after the first wave and a second wave form the east side nothing else happend. German units are out there but they are frozen. They don't move. They only fire if enemy is at the sight but there is no way to accomplish the mission, even destroying them all.

Never lost a vp but the problem still happens. I can only think the bug may be related to scouting the german units before their own wave start.

I'm not able to repeat this after a number of tries, with different approaches. Can you think of anything else that might be causing it? Are you all playing from a save for example?

I will keep looking into it.

Yess. Both cases I was playing from previously saved games.

Do you happen to have the savegames still? It might help me repeat this.

Another question - do you see the popups warning you of german forces coming, but nothing comes, or does nothing happen at all?

In my fisrt game only the first popup appeared. In the second one there was two waves and both popups appeared... then nothing else happened...
The seve game I send you belongs to my second game, after the second wave was apparently defeated.

Awesome - thanks for uploading the save. Sadly it runs fine for me (I get a new 'incoming!' popup after 3 turns) both on the installed version and on my latest codebase.

Ahhh - looking at the script (and the scripting for this mission is a little wierd it has to be said) I think I have worked it out. I think that if you kill the remaining units of a team in the AI side's turn then it sets a counter wrong and then it misses the next set of units moving off. Urgh.

I will try and duplicate the situation to prove my theory, and then fix it.

Thanks to everyone for their info on this.

Cheers

Pip

Thanks for your efforts. :D
So if I try to avoid german units during their turn may be I'll be able to complete the mission? Otherwise I have to wait for a patch... :|
