Just a quick comment on that.

I noticed that the change really resulted in lots of Heroes for the default core units after a few scenarios. That's good.
(My minor side complaint is that there is need for improvement to show which unit got what kind of hero, but that's not DLC related)

It is still too low for my taste, I am pretty certain that even if I pick the 40 units with the least number of heroes from my DLC 42 core they will have more heroes at the start of '43 than the pre-build core at the end of '43. The gap is getting smaller and this is good, but it is still fairly wide IMO.

I just took the time at the start of 43 to rename my units with hero stats.
exp. 1H M1
1 hero movement +1
or 2H A3/D1
it helped in deploying units from the start of each scenario greatly.
Heavy attack or defense up front for exp and m1s farther back

There is some concern about the lack of visibility of the heroes on the units. The heroes or "commanders" were present in the PG2 and they were marked for example by the black crosses on the German units and the red stars on the Soviet ones. Wouldn't it be a good idea for PC?



I always rename my units with the heroes, for example +2Attack is +2AT, +1Movement +1MV and so on.

The only hero I care about is +1 range for artillery, I add that to the name of the unit as well. +1 movement is useful, too, but the system we have requires renaming and stuff to make things visible so I just tend to ignore it entirely.

But it was part of the testing, the accelerated gain for the default core. So I thought I could give some feedback.
That "Hero Visibility" is big problem and renaming the common workaround is a quite known issue.

I agree. Why the extra points which you get from the heroes are not calculated when you visit the unit page? If you know what I mean, I checked the unit but the status are the same with or without heroes::l

It should be better if you know what the heroes do, without to change the pages:(
