Why this plane is "different" from the others ( name, color)?

I think it's based on an historical character and so is distinguished from the others.

He is indeed a real pilot. Considered a hero with a street named after him in Belgrade. See link below

Personally I would have liked it better if these hero units of the AI would have been implemented not by changing the unit`s name but via a hero trait like the germans have.

Then you would most likely never know you were fighting against one. Heroes are not easily visible in the game right now, and renaming a unit is a good solution.

I like the rename as it lets you know you are facing something special. Now it would also be nice if it came along with a hero such as A2 or something. Of course this guy only shot down one plane before getting shot down and killed so he might want to come with something like D-2 but still.

I don`t like it because imo it looks disruptive compared to the name of the majority of the units on the map. The hero does not embody the entire unit; he`s just part of the unit. As for noticing it... well, I`ve only noticed it when someone made a thread here. On the map I just saw a brownish german Me and shot it down instantly with no worries.

Yes indeed I shoot him down instantly, I asked about him hoping there could be some "surprise" ( a captured special Me for example ).
However, honour to this (to me ) unknown hero of the war.
