FM - pre-build non-optimised core - chess mode

Got my 6th SE unit, "only" a Pz IIIN and since I lack the prestige I will not be able to upgraed it for this scenario, but since I am fielding 2 of those anyway I will not complain.

All aircraft and artillery in addition to the Tigers and Panthers got overstrenghted to the max, had to be more selective with the other forces. Upgraded the Marder to another StuG IIIG and bought another SdKfz 7/2 ending up with 5 prestige left. Buying a Brückenpionier would have been nice, but I simply lack the prestige to buy such a luxury unit which I hardly ever use.

Spend quite some time wrecking my brain about a setup for this one, but even 45 core slots are not enough to get everything done - which is perfectly fine btw, this game should be about making choices IMO. With no Brückenpioniere I will need some brute force in the SE. Basically all tanks in the SW and all my infantry (just 4) in the NW.

Time to grab something to eat and then have a go at it, based on the beta 1 game this should get ugly.

Has the prestige gain per turn been increased or has it been at 200 before, too? I am still getting hurt here, but it feels better than before and I still have a decent amount of prestige at the moment - might be knowing the map already, too.

Met the first units of the 5th Guards at turn 12 - maybe taking Berezovka or getting close to the easternmost airfield triggered them, at least they did attack at both locations.

I think turn 17 was the first one where I didnt see a single Soviet aircraft - with the shape my fighters are in I needed 3 of them to bring down the last Soviet one.

At turn 18 the last defender of Prokhorovka was destroyed.

And this is what happens if you leave them room to respawn ;)

DV at 22/22 - prestige 3.4k, will have to take a look at the repair bill tomorrow, 2 a.m. here now ;)

It has been easier than I expected, sinec I could have won this one at turn 18. This might have something to do with having a fair number of 13STR units and around 30 heroes now. In addition the core might not be as strong as possible, but it is very far from weak. I think never really letting the AI gain air superiority is very important here and my mix of AAA, fighters and fighter-bombers did the trick, but soem of them have been fairly shot up towards the end and more than once I had to make repairs during the game. Overall nice scenario, but knowing the map makes a huge difference here.

Ok, time for some statistics, starting prestige = 5, prestige after full elite reinforcements = 1867, so a net gain of roughly 1.9k prestige. Playing that 4 extra turns in the end did help here, 800 extra prestige for hardly any extra repairs.

37 units with heroes now (38 heroes since a Panther has 2 of them) - net gain of 8. Highest kill unit with no hero is at 297 kills now. Highest kill unit with 556 kills is the aforementioned Panther.

Still no 14STR units, but some (mainly tactical bombers) are getting close.
