Yes I think I am using that mod, however I haven't got a Stu42 in my orbat just StuG IIIF/8 but, I think that's a vanilla unit. What are you suggesting, remove the Mod or is there a file upgrade? Is there anything I can do to recover the scenario?

The issue is with the units which are switchable.
There's a hotfix for that mod. Look in the Mod thread.
But the equipment file will remain in the save and thus the problem will remain. So you've to load a save from a previous scenario. It cannot be the same.
And would also download this beta version and would replace Panzer Corps executable with it. This beta version permits you, in between between scenarios, to load the new equipment file.
Otherwise it will be always loading the same scenario equipment until the end of the campaign.

That mod as updates after December. If you've the latest installed I really can't tell.
Could you please post this issue in its thread and put the question to the author?
As you might understand I'm trying to connect one known issue with your case. This the only problem reported with this DLC by any other user.
And you've to agree with me, by being in the same scenario and by being using the same mod as others reported the issue, it's only natural to assume that the culprit it's there.

Ok I have D/L 1.05 hotfix, edited the SU122 file to nonpurchase and started at the start of a new scenario, but the still crashes when I click on the captured SU122. Incidentally there 2 SU122 on the file list what next?

If you're using the same save, it will crash. The equipment file you edited it will only be loaded in the next scenario. He's still loading the one that it's in the save, which is bugged. So you'll need to have a save from a previous scenario
Which equipment file did you edited? The one from the game or the one from the mod? Are you using GME for the mods?

You didn't use GME? You copy the mod directly and replace vanilla files?

Ok I am still having problems with this silly little SU 122. I have completely uninstalled the game and reinstalled the main game and all the DLC and the 1.05 patch, gone back to the previous scenario and completed the last turn and saved it, and start the the Depot scenario fresh, but the game still crashes after clicking on the SU122. I haven't installed any mods on this occasion. Help!

Of course it still freeze.
Have you installed 1.05b?
http://www.rudankort.me/PanzerCorps105b.zip
Your save has the equipment file with the problem, even being from the previous scenario. Unless you install 1.05b, the game it won't load a new copy of the equipment file. In that case only when you finish the DLC or when you start a new game, it will load a new equipment file.
So install 1.05b and load a previous scenario.
