How are you guys editing your infantry unit icons, id like to try and do this. The FJ image is driving me crazy. Is there a larger file of the pick that you work on, or is it the icon image already there thats you are editing in photoshop etc? How you doing it? Thanks.

It depends.
HBalck, for example, makes his own infantry units with Poser (I think).
I use the icon image ready and edit them with Photoshop Elements. It's tiny but you can zoom it. I suppose it's easier for someone like me who is used to paint pixels, from the old 8bit and 16bit programs. You've to abstract yourself from being pixels but at the same time you've to know which ones are important to turn a straight line into a half circle. Since I've begun to skin for Panzer Corps a lot of the old techniques came into memory. I'm not very gifted in terms of drawing, but sometimes it's more a question of technique and want you want to do.
Infantry are harder to work. We can't do much. Change a colour of the uniform and not much more.
Here are two examples I worked last night for the airbornemongo's SS mod.
Basically I work with textures, colours variation and masks. A lot of masks.
In this Kavalarie example I've made first a mask with the horse. Took out all the brightness and some of the contrast to make it look like a black horse. After I've made a mask for the horseman, to change is base colour from field grey to brown. In the mask I didn't include face, weapon nor the boots. After that a mask on the boots and on the barrel weapon, and again I've removed the brightness. And it's finished.
I used basically the same steps for the big icon unit only I've added a new mask of the jacket and helmet and overlaid there a texture that I've made from a photograph of a SS jacket.
In the case of the Bruckenpioniere the same techniques were applied.

Who knows.
But to be honest, I don't know why they got boats (or whatever that it is) for symbolizing bridge engineers...

Funny paintings !!!
But BTW - the Wehrmacht and also the SS don't use this vehicles in his bridge columns or special bridge building batl.
Wait some times and I show you a better bridge column K in 3D.

I don't think they're funny at all
I think they are damn good
Please refrain in the future from calling other people's work "funny"..and don't give me any b.s. about language barriers. If you're in doubt....don't post.
Time and time again you show your level of civility.......which is nil

Of cousre not flak..every good duck hunter knows that you need decoys and a dog to get the birds for you,,which as you can see, both are absent

.
I know what they're gonna do
They're going go bird watching in that pretty camo'd canoe and those nifty smocks
I couldn't resist, I just couldn't, I'm sorry
@VP
I think the "boats" are actually a representaion of one pontoon used to build a pontoon bridge,,or a stack of inflatable assualt boats,,both on a trlr.
Or maybe it really is a pretty camo'd bird watching canoe

.....oh I'm so weak

,,,I couldn't resist again
@Flak
Do you see what you made me do...may you have dreams of Roseanne Barr naked,,oiled and in a thong

Sure. Anyway, they remind me more boats then pontoon boats.

Yeah I do miss the bridging icon from PG.
Thanks for the info, gave it a go and the FJ turned out great for only messing about with photoshop for 20 min.

Whoa, VPaulus, your infantry retouches are truly excellent.
I tried to bring some INF units into my reskinning app, but so far I haven't been successful in producing results which consitantly offer sufficient quality. Many look "wrong" or samey, and I'm having some trouble with a "neon" effect, I'm not sure what causes it.
Anyway, it's cool that you stepped in to help airbornemongo to get some quality infantry.
@airbornemongo: My apologies that I haven't been able to work on those INF icons as much as I'd have liked to. I'm sure VPaulus' handcrafted stuff is better than anything my app will ever shell out, but i'd still have liked to roll SOMETHING out - unfortunately I haven't had the time to work on it much. Heck, I haven't even INSTALLED, let alone played the latest DLC yet.

Maybe you could fix some of your Italian vehicles for Africa Corps before. I don't think a Lancia 3RO or TL-37 you have on page 6 had oval wheels in reality. That would have been reaaally funny.

BTW - If you have produce more than 400 units - let me known - than we can speak on the same level - For now I can see nothing !

Don't worry about the skins brother. Without your and flaks veh. skins I would've never gotten the idea for the 2 mods I made and combining them into the Elite Units
It's a shame you've not gotten a chance to chill out and play the DLC,,but as we all know sometimes hobbies have to take a distant second seat to real life.
Have a good one and stay safe rezaf

I would prefer an allround engineer in Panzer Corps that is capable of building bridges, airfields, defensive structures.
The png of the stock bridge engineer could use a makeup, i like the one of VPaulus very much. Nice job!
I'm not in 2D, 3D,... but i respect everybody's work and the dedication to improve and expand the units for panzer corps. I really get tired of every unit thread turning into something..."different". I consider to send this msg upstairs.

Sorry but what i have too say i can only in german (my english is not good enough)...

Tastes differ. What some like can be disliked by somebody else.
But people please stop this bickering.
Personally i like all the units of Bebro, Puma, VPaulus, HBalck and others.
When i write my opinion whether i like something or not, i remain respectful and tactful.
I hope that courteousness and respect can continue as it always was. Thank you.
