Modding?

I notice there seem to be no mods for FOG and I find that odd. Other than making a few value adjustments in .xml files to tweak things a bit closer to my idea of reality, I am not a modder. However, I am an enthusiastic user of the mods created by more skilled players than myself. In fact, I have noticed that the games I keep on my hard drive and which I buy are ones which modders have adopted and vastly improved. What is the problem?

I think modding is coming - hopefully it will be this year. One of the Slitherine chaps did say they were working on it before Xmas.

This would be fun. While I love the general way the FoG combat works, there are a few minor things (elephants, short stabbing swords vs long slashing swords) that I would love to tweak. Also (as some of you may already know) I think an intermediate "between protected and armoured" armor class could be usefull.

I would love to have some mods for this game, especially the ability to tweak unit stats and edit terrains for custom scenarios like Lake Peipus or adding some walls and town stuff for a scenario where a besieging army is attacked by relief force or something. Would be super cool to be able to make that sort of stuff.
